Apartment Review for Melwood Center Complex - Pittsburgh, PA

These apartments are TERRIBLE. When u move in, the apartment is not clean (I had to remove a soiled mattress before I could move in and the previous tenant drew artwork on the walls) and the management does not care(I had to clean this on my own). The intercoms don't work(they will tell you that the lease states they are not required to maintain this equipment); the mailboxes don't lock(hope no one steals your mail); the security door is not secure(bums get cold at night!). The security officer they brag about really only comes by for 3 minutes on the weekend to walk up and down the stairs. And don't be fooled by how nice the office staff is before you sign the lease, because once they have your money you're on you're own. No matter how badly you need an apartment close to campus, don't rent from this management company. They are slumlords.
