Apartment Review for Highland Manor - Pittsburgh, PA

I have lived at this Lobos Management housing unit for over 6 years, and I have encountered numerous issues related to maintenance. I first reported a malfunctioning light fixture in the apartment hallway shortly after moving into the unit, but no one came by to address this issue. I reported a problem with the kitchen sink plumbing on 2 separate occasions; however, no one fixed the issue. I was assured by the management staff that the problem would get addressed, but it never did get addressed. I reported a cracked pane of glass in the kitchen window. Someone came by an slapped a piece of duct tape on the window. The maintenace person, Shannon, indicated that he would have to measure the window for a replacement pane of glass. No one came back to perform said measurement, and the issue remains unresolved. I would not recommend anyone renting a unit from Lobos Management. A former tenent, who lived across the hall from me in apartment #14 said that he repeatedly reported a malfunctioning refrigeration unit, but no one came to fix said unit. Lobos declined to return the tenent's security deposit when his lease expired citing abuse of company property (i.e. refrigerator) as the reason for retaining the deposit. I also highly recommend any prospective or current tenents to obtain renter's insurance due to the age of the building (pre-WWII). I described the electrical outlets to my father; who is an electrician, and he indicated that the building would not pass code if it had to be re-inspected. Can you say fire hazard! Allow me to end this tirade with a bit of advice to those who may consider renting a unit at Highland Manor: caveat emptor
