Apartment Review for Franklin West 328 Lehigh Avenue - Pittsburgh, PA

The amenities and facilities upkeep are nice, but you are basically paying for location here. These apartments are convenient to public transportation to Univ. of Pitt and UPMC if you tend to work 9 to 5P, otherwise, it's a crapshoot when you'll get a bus.

The neighborhood isn't really safe however. There have been several rapes in the area recently. This building borders on East Liberty and I frequently see young teenagers trolling the streets on weekend nights. The parking lot behind the building is bordered by a number of shady-looking residences and I've had several confrontations with random people back by my parking space. They usually came up and accosted me or threatened me.

My car window was smashed by hoodlums who picked up a river rock from the ridiculous landscaping stuff this landlord uses around the property (the whole property is strewn with loose, fist-sized rocks!). Instead of being sympathetic to my requests for more lighting and a surveillance camera, they simply blamed me and said I was at fault for attracting the attackers to me.

I haven't had a run in with my landlord regarding my security deposit yet as I haven't tried to break my lease but I've heard their not too willing to return your deposit either.

Wouldn't live here again if I had known more about the area.
