Apartment Review for Center Court Apartments - Pittsburgh, PA

The apartment that I rented from Lobos was actually a decent studio space. Unfortunately, Lobos is by far the worst management company I've ever encountered. (Perhaps the name Lobos, which is Spanish for "wolves", should have clued me in.) The strategy of the average Lobos employee seems to be feigning incompetence at all times: during the year I lived at Centre Court Apartments, every question or request for maintenance was met with an "I don't know" or "You'll have to ask [insert other person's name here], who isn't here right now." For the first month I lived there, my kitchen sink didn't drain; I called about ten times over the course of four weeks before finally walking the 2 miles to the Lobos office to demand immediate maintenance. Their response: "We'll send someone there, but you'd better run back to your apartment so you can let them in. If they get there before you, they'll leave." This experience set the tone for the rest of my tenancy, during which Lobos would often show up at my apartment to perform (often unneeded or unrequested) maintenance without any kind of notice. During my winter finals week, someone showed up and informed me that they would be completely remodeling my kitchen over the next ten days, and that I needed to empty everything from that half of the apartment. In addition, Lobos took more than twice as long to return my security deposit as is required by law, even though I repeatedly threatened them (and should have followed through) with legal action. I could go on and on, but I'm guessing the point has been conveyed: avoid Lobos at all costs.
