Apartment Review for 631 Maryland - Pittsburgh, PA

My friend and I chose this apartment (which is no longer managed by MJ Kelly-now it's run by Maryland Ellsworth Realty, they are good too) specifically because she had lived in an MJ Kelly building before and liked them. While the place was outdated (old cabinets and rugs, wobbly bathroom sink) but in good condition. I had lived in a nasty apartment owned by the infamously awful JLB Investment Properties/Jason Cohen/Trends Capital previously and it was such a relief to have attentive landlords. When we agreed to sign a lease we mentioned the cracked kitchen floor tiles...and got a new ceramic kitchen floor within a few weeks. Also when we needed a new toilet -on a saturday night- Mike Kelly actually picked up his cell when we called, and sure enough a maintainance man was over in a few hours. In two years those were our only issues and they were both resolved right away. To sum it up, it's not impossible to find a huge 2br for under $800 with free heat, lots of natural light, a big bathroom, large windows, and eat-in kitchen...who knew!
