| | | | Review Title: Was Good While It Lasted! | | | | | | Reviewer: Anonymous | | | | Review Date: 2/5/03 | | | | | | | Rate This Apartment | | | | | | | I have been living here for about 4 years, and one of the main reasons I moved in was because the staff (including the resident manager, and the owner, Mr. Herbert Halsband) were courteous and seemed reasonable about maintenance,My first two years here was quite pleasant.However, recently things have changed, as Sheri Halsband, (the owner's daughter, I think), seems to have taken charge of this particular building. She is one of the rudest and most unreasonable people I have ever dealt with, and is quite inefficient to boot! The resident manager has changed too, and is still rather nice, but I doubt is she has much say in the maintenance and management. I can state quite a few examples of the situation now. Some of the wall tiles in our bathroom came down one day, and we could not use the bath. After repeated calls, we ended up having to clean the room. It was then left covered in trash bags by the management for about TWO MONTHS, while they looked for 'tiles that match the current set'. Any attempt at expediting the process was met by rudeness on Sheri's part. Similarly, I moved apartments within the same building, and ended up having to clean the carpets of both the place I was moving out of, and the place I was moving into. In addition, they took money for cleaning the carpets out of my security deposit! Again, any attempts at reason were met by extreme rudeness. Everything there is quite old, and the management has recently repeatedly resorted to stop-gap arrangements to fix problems. This is not what I expect from a not-so-cheap apartment. So I have had enough, and am moving out. | | | | |
